Svar skickas in till: info@marcon.se

Södra Midsjöbankarna “Metmast” – MWP Mark II

E.ON Climate & renewables, Nordic AB plans to expand its offshore operations and in the next step to build a wind farm of about 200 units within the area of Södra Midsjöbanken in the Baltic Sea. E.ON Climate & Renewables, Nordic AB has decided to use the MWP Mark II foundation at Södra Midsjöbankarna as a basis for a movable metmast. The entire project has been operated within a spirit of partnering, meaningful transparence within all stages of the process.

Center hull – center leg: 22 m
Light Unit weight: 560 tons
Leg weights: 62 tons / each
Penetration depth: 3 m
Air gap: 12 m
Hmax (100 yr): 9 m

E.On Vind Sverige AB – Södra Midsjöbankarna

E.On Vind Sverige AB has decided to use the MWP Mark II foundation at Södra Midsjöbankarna as a basis for a moveable metmast. This special configuration of our foundation provides several benefits to the project. Furthermore it can be used at a later occasion during the production phase of the WPP

The Challenge – Carbon Trust – UK

The Carbon Trust launched an competition to find foundations that are:
• Technically fit for water depths of 30-60metres
• Will cut current life-cycle costs-from design and building through to operation and decommissioning by some 30%

  • Goal setting principles:
  • Cost efficiency
  • Ease of deployment
  • Environmentally viable solutions

The Challenge – OWA Competition

The goal of the competition is to take the best new designs for offshore wind turbine foundations from design through research and development to deployment.

The Offshore Wind Accelerator programme itself is a wider collaboration between the Carbon Trust and five of the leading international players in offshore wind farms developing technology and process in Wake Effect Modelling; Access Transportation UK round 3 Access, & Logistics; and Electrical Systems in addition to Foundation Design.

For foundation design Carbon Trust are looking for the most innovative, cost effective and robust turbine foundation designs for different deeper offshore conditions.

E.ON New Build & Technology Centre

MWP provided E.ON with detailed design documentation for review and comment.  The purpose of the design review was to understand the basis of design, the scope and depth of FE analysis performed, identify residual risks and determine the requirement for and scope of structural monitoring in the future.

EDF – DONG, ST: Nazaire, Fecamp and Courselles site

STX France has been selected by EDF-Dong and MarCon is currently within a process together with STX  to manufacture and to use the MWP Mark II foundation for several sites in French waters with hard soil conditions.

RES – Offshore Ltd, participants of the St Brieuc project

MarCon and RES Offshore have been working together to investigate the feasibility of using the MWP Mark II foundation concept for supporting met’ masts and also turbines.  Initial comparative cost studies indicate that this solution would have a lower whole life cost for turbine foundations than jackets.  The joint work will continue to review costs and other aspects such as structural integrity and fabrication and installation logistics.
